If you believe your septic system is failing, or otherwise needs to be replaced, your first step is to have a Septic Inspection completed. Generally, the first step prior to an inspection is to obtain all records on file with the local government in order to determine how your septic system is layer out.
These records can be obtained, free of charge, thru an Open Public Records Act request.
